IBM Storage for Containers Introduction Hands-on Workshop |
In the first workshop module, attendees learn about persistent container-storage types including block storage, Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage (OCS), file storage with IBM Spectrum Scale Container Native Storage Access (CNSA) as the prime example. Attendees can also refresh their knowledge about Red Hat OpenShift and IBM Spectrum Scale administration in a hands-on session.
In the subsequent modules, attendees learn about the integration of IBM Spectrum Scale CNSA with Red Hat OpenShift and practices its deployment and management in hands-on sessions. This also includes launching and monitoring containerized apps using persistent storage provided by IBM Spectrum Scale Container Storage Interface (CSI) in Red Hat OpenShift.
In an optional module, attendees learn about backup and recovery of containerized environments in Red Hat OpenShift using IBM Spectrum Protect Plus.
For the hands-on sessions, attendees use completely preconfigured Red Hat OpenShift environments provided by the IBM Client Center Virtual Experience team (ICCVE). Information about registration with the ICCVE will provided in preparation of this hands-on workshop.
This workshop provides the following modules that include lectures and hands-on exercises:
- Persistent storage options for container in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Introduction to IBM Block Storage CSI for Red Hat OpenShift
- Introduction to Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation
- Introduction to IBM Spectrum Scale CNSA
- IBM Spectrum Scale CNSA and CSI deployment
- Working with containers using persistent storage
- Introduction to IBM Spectrum Fusion
