JR44674: Null pointer exception with edit column details During Identify Flat Files.

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • 1. Start Client
    2. Go to Import Metadata screen
    3. Select SOURCENAME->HOSTNAME -> DATABASENAME  and click
    Identify Flat File
    4. Click on ADD Button
    5. Browse FLATFILE
    6. Select FERRETS.txt and click OK
    7. click Next -->Next again Go to  Edit Column Details
    8. Change column names for this table
    9. click on Update Preview
    10. Click Next agin and save the file
    11. Select the FERRETS.txt and Again Repeat the step from 7 you
    will see the issue in 11th step.
    
    The following error occuring while UI Invoking the below service

  • Fix provided in rollup_RU5_IA_ALL_8701, rollup_RU12_IA_ALL_8503,
    rollup_RU6_IA_ALL_8701
    

Problem summary

  • The Customer hits the issue when they wants to modify the column
    names while importing Flat files.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Null pointer exception occurring after editing column name
    during Identify Flat file. We have fixed threading issues Null
    pointer exception in this Fix.This Fix is Available in 85FP4 and
    87FP3
