JR40746: ISTOOL.BAT DOES NOT WORK IF CUSTOMER INSTALLED SOFTWARE UNDER "PROGRAM FILES" (OR ANYTHING WITH A SPACE IN IT).

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer requires patch to fix an issue where running istool.bat
does not start up the istool.  They installed their S/W under
"Program Files", not under "IBM".  The space causes istool.bat
to fail.

Local fix

  • none - customer requires a patch rather than editing the file
themselves.

Problem summary

  • The user install Information server under "Program files"
directory and cause istool script failure.

Problem conclusion

  • When Information server is installed under "Program Files"
directory, istool.bat cript failed to run due to the space
inside of the installed directory.  The solution is to quote the
dorectory name in the istool.bat script.
