JR39082: IMPORTING THE TABLES HAVING FOREIGN KEY DEPENDENCY ACROSS THE SCHEMAS FAILS DUE TO JAVA.LANG.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION.

Error description

• ENHANCEMENT REQUEST: provide check box to ignore foreign key
  relationships as importing inter schema metadata (i.e. Foreign
  keys across schemas) fails.
  

Local fix

• Import metadata in DataStage using import wizard (i.e. make it a
  shared table).
  

Problem summary

• MDI fails on tables having foreign key dependency across the
  schemas. IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer causes error
  "Failed while discovering. Please see log files for details"
  during executing "Identify Next Level" on tables having foreign
  key dependency across the schemas. IBM InfoSphere Information
  Analyzer uses Connector Access Service to discover/import
  metadata. During the discovering table metadata, Connector
  Access Service does not handle the foreign key dependency
  accross the schema correctly. As result,
  java.lang.NullPointerException is occurred in Connector Access
  Service like follows. java.lang.NullPointerException at
  java.util.Hashtable.put(Hashtable.java:775) at
  com.ascential.asb.cas.client.ConnectorAccessorClient.addImported
  ByEntry(ConnectorAccessorClient.java:3893) at
  com.ascential.asb.cas.client.ConnectionClient.describeDataCollec
  tion(ConnectionClient.java:1254)
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed Connector Access Service to handle the foreign key
  dependency accross the schema correctly.
