IJ35248: AFM FILESET RELATIONSHIP INITIALIZATION DEADLOCKS WITH UNLINK ON THE SAME FILESET.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• One thread is trying to initialize the AFM relationship with
  the remote site and in the meanwhile another thread has
  initiated an unlink on the same fileset. The relationship
  initialization thread doesn't give up causing unlink thread
  to wait forever - causing the deadlock.
  

Local fix

• Make sure the fileset is in a Dirty/Active
  state when unlinking an AFM Fileset.
  

Problem summary

  Benefits of the solution:
  Be able to unlink an AFM fileset even though it might
  be doing a relationship initialization in the background.
  
  Work around:
  Make sure the fileset is in a Dirty/Active
  state when unlinking an AFM Fileset.
  
  Problem trigger:
  Unlinking an AFM fileset while the AFM
  relationship for this fileset is being initialized.
  
  Symptom:
  Hang/Deadlock/Unresponsiveness/Long Waiters
  
  Platforms affected:
  ALL Linux OS environments (Acting as AFM Gateway nodes).
  
  Functional Area affected:
  AFM
  
  Customer Impact:
  High Importance.
