Error description

  • When changing the Default Document Storage to FS, the
tuning.properties file is not being updated. The value
    remains

    jdbcService.defaultDocumentStorageType=DB

    However,
the value in system_overrides.properties is updated. The value
    is

    jdbcService.defaultDocumentStorageType=FS

    I did notice
that after saving the change to FS, even though
tuning.properties had DB, that the UI (specifically on the UI
Tuning Wizard Edit screen) was showing the current setting as
FS. The UI Tuning Wizard View did display it incorrectly as DB.

I performed an additional test and found that if
tuning.properties is DB, when running setupfiles.sh, that the
value in system_overrides.properties remains FS. Which,
overall, is a good thing in that it does not arbitrarily switch
it back. Also, Setupfiles will not affect jdbc.properties since
the (.in) file does not reference this as a variable.

    The
value in system_overrides.properties is the setting that will
be used while the system is running. The value in
tuning.properties will not affect the actual way documents are
stored and it only appears to be used for the UI Tuning Wizard
    View.

The defect reported is that the UI Tuning Wizard View
does not display the changed value. The value is pulled from
the tuning.properties which is not updated by the Tuning
    Wizard.

    Simulation Steps

    1)
    Operations>System>Performance>Tuning>Edit Performance
    Configuration

Update Default Document Storage to FS.

    2) Save
    changes

    3) Operations>System>Performance>Tuning>View
    Performance Configuration

     The Default Document Storage will
    display as DB
