Question & Answer
Question
How can I determine what escape message IDs to monitor in Content Manager OnDemand for i commands in V7.5 compared to V7.4?
Answer
Content Manager OnDemand commands previously issued a variety of messages during processing that might be monitored or reviewed to determine the cause of a failure. On V7.5, the number of messages has been reduced, in most cases, to simplify the monitoring of failures. For example, in previous releases, the Add Report (ADDRPTOND) command might issue one or more of seven messages if an error occurred. On V7.5, the command issues message OND0211 - ADDRPTOND command ended in error. If the message OND0211 is issued or detected by the Monitor Message (MONMSG) command, you can then look at other messages in the job log to determine the cause of the failure.
If you are currently monitoring for messages in any CL programs, job schedulers, or autostart job entries, you should review the complete list of new and changed messages in the following table.
In addition, if a failure occurs for any Content Manager OnDemand command with a Submit job parameter set to *YES (SBMJOB(*YES)), the command now issues message OND1338 – Errors occurred on SBMJOB command. In previous releases, the message ID was CPF1338. (Note the OND prefix replaces the CPF prefix.) If you are currently monitoring for message CPF1338 in any CL programs, job schedulers, or autostart job entries, you should now monitor for message OND1338 instead.
