Troubleshooting
Problem
The following problem might occur in IBM Cloud Pak System 2.3.3.3:
- If virtual machines (VM) are placed on a remote rack in a multi-rack environment, the virtual system instances deployment fails. The following error message is displayed in the history of the instance:
"Virtual machine <vm_name> did not successfully complete the Activation Engine processing."
Symptom
In the Workload Troubleshooting traces, a stack trace is observed that includes a NullPointerException.
Instance ID: (21), VM ID: (21) -- AE partial or failed result - java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke method toBoolean() on null object
