Problem
In the manual process of IBM Control Desk EAR file deployment in WebSphere Application Server's console, you encounter the error "This application is too large to be installed." after selecting the EAR file.
Cause
The file size of the EAR file is more than 1 GB.
Environment
This error is seen when you deploy EAR file manually in WebSphere Application Server's console.
Resolving The Problem
As a workaround, manually copy the maximo.ear file to the server running WebSphere Application Server.
In the WebSphere Application Server's console when you deploy the EAR file, select the EAR file from 'Remote file system' (instead of Local file system).
Therefore, make sure the EAR file is located in the path that you can see in 'Remote file system'.
Using this option will avoid the error "This application is too large to be installed".
