This technote provides information about the releases of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform that are supported for each refresh of IBM Cloud Pak for Data 4.0.

This technote provides information about the releases of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform that are supported for each refresh of IBM Cloud Pak for Data 4.0.
In addition, the technote provides important information about the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform support lifecycle. In general, Cloud Pak for Data runs on the Extended Update Support (EUS) release that is available when the Cloud Pak for Data Software is released. For example, Cloud Pak for Data 4.0.0 runs on OpenShift Container Platform 4.6 EUS release.
Important: To obtain fixes, security updates, and new functionality, you must install the latest refresh of the IBM Cloud Pak for Data software. (Ensure that you upgrade OpenShift Container Platform based on the versions that are supported for the refresh.)
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform support lifecycle dates are subject to change. For the most up-to-date information, refer to the Life Cycle Dates published by Red Hat.
Cloud Pak for Data 4.0 - Refresh 2 (October 2021)
This release of Cloud Pak for Data can be deployed on the following versions of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform:
- 4.6 EUS release (Specifically, you must install on 4.6.29 or later fixes)
- 4.8 EUS release
- This release goes out of Full Support on 17 July, 2022.
- This release goes out of Maintenance Support on 26 January, 2023.
Cloud Pak for Data 4.0 - Refresh 1 (August 2021)
This release of Cloud Pak for Data can be deployed on the following versions of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform:
- 4.6 EUS release (Specifically, you must install on 4.6.29 or later fixes)
Cloud Pak for Data 4.0 - Initial release
This release of Cloud Pak for Data can be deployed on the following versions of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform:
- 4.6 EUS release (Specifically, you must install on 4.6.29 or later fixes)
