APAR status

Error description

  • Customer's AFM cache cluster was unresponsive due to long
waiters.

  • Deadlock while queueing PIO read if there
is one active gateway node and
home becomes unresponsive.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This problem is fixed in 5.0.5  PTF 10

Benefits of the solution:
Avoid deadlock by returning error for PIO
read if home is not responsive.

Work around:
Restart GPFS at the gateway node.

Problem trigger:
PIO read with unresponsive home.

Symptom:
Deadlock.

Platforms affected:
ALL Linux OS environments
(serving as AFM Gateway nodes)
