APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Running online fsck in repair mode (-o -y) can cause it to
    detect and repair false positive lost blocks
    (i.e. blocks that are assigned to files) and mark it as free,
    and doing this can lead to duplicate block corruptions.
    

Local fix

  • Use offline fsck to fix corruptions.

    Benefits of the solution:
    Will not be able to run online fsck in repair
    mode (-o -y) in turn preventing this issue.
    
    Work around:
    Use offline fsck to fix corruptions.
