Short URL: https://ibm.biz/rpgcafe_fall_2021_debug_constants

Specify DEBUG(*CONSTANTS) to enable debugging named constants

Warning

If you specify DEBUG(*CONSTANTS), you need a debugger PTF on any system where you debug the program.

  • On a 7.3 system, you need PTF 5770SS1 SI76807.
  • On a 7.4 system, you need PTF 5770SS1 SI76808.

Details

When you specify Control keyword DEBUG(*CONSTANTS), you can evaluate named constants while debugging.

          ctl-opt debug(*constants);
.                                                            .
.                                                            .

PTFs for 7.3 and 7.4, available in September 2021

Warning: You need a debugger PTF on every system where you debug the program. If the debugger PTF is not applied on the system where the program is running, the debugger issues an error when you try to evaluate a named constant.
