APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A previous fix which dealt with the sync read issue so
it does not fail on remote error. On remote error
getInodeBits is called to check the cache status without
checking prefetch marker leading to an assert

Local fix

Problem summary


    

  • AFM gateway may assert if the home server is
not responding during a prefetch.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This problem is fixed in 5.1.1  PTF 3
Benefits of the solution:
No more assert

Work around:
Stop prefetch until the efix is installed.
