Error description
Customers with NVMe device on VIOS may see error from PowerVC while attempting to create VM which prevents the deployment of a VM. used by: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-enumeration-valid: Value '' is not facet-valid with respect to enumeration '[ONLINE, STOPPED, FAILED, MISSING]'. It must be a value from the enumeration. at org.apache.xerces.util.ErrorHandlerWrapper.createSAXParse Exception(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.util.ErrorHandlerWrapper.error(Unknown Source)
Local fix
Problem may be resolved by rebooting VIOS-es.
Problem summary
Sometimes VIOS CM can report null value for PV state to HMC or PowerVC. This will cause an error.
Problem conclusion
Change to return STOPPED instead of null, and add more logs to understand what's leading to this.
