Error description

  • Customers with NVMe device on VIOS may see error from
    PowerVC while attempting to create VM which prevents the
    deployment of a VM.

Local fix

  • Problem may be resolved by rebooting VIOS-es.
    

Problem summary

  • Sometimes VIOS CM can report null value for PV state to HMC
    or PowerVC. This will cause an error.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Change to return STOPPED instead of null, and add more logs to
    understand what's leading to this.
