  • During GDPS CA Controller initialization, replying OK to
    GEO4591A prompt results in unsuccessful change master, with the
    following messages issued:
    GEO1716E Change Master initiated for Controller XXXX failed.
    Controller XXXX failed. Timed out waiting for Takeover response

    This PTF resolves a number of problems associated with GDPS CA
    Controller Change Master processing:
    - Replying to GEO4591A prompt during Controller initialization
    left the GDPS Controller in indeterminate state resulting in a
    GEO4685A prompt
    - GDPS CA AUTAK21 or AUTAK22 operator loops issuing GEO4685A
    prompt. resulting in memory leak and eventual NV dump
    - GEO9990I alerts relating to Lifeline messages are not deleted
    - No automatic Change Master/Takeover after Lifeline message
    AQS0189W when option LIFELINE_ADVISOR_FAILURE is set to
    AUTOMATIC
    

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR fixes the reported problems.
    
    A new SDF alert GEO4593E is issued, and will be documented in a
    future revision of GDPS Messages and Codes (ZG24-6762).  See DOC
    hold for details.
