Error description

  • After upgrading CICS Explorer when the customer tries to define
a new resource he receives the following error:

    !ENTRY com.ibm.cics.core.ui.editors 4 0 date time
!MESSAGE CNX0622E: Create Transaction Definition "ABCD" in
    "CICSABCD" failed
    !SUBENTRY 1 com.ibm.cics.explorer.tables.ui 4 0 date time
    !MESSAGE CNX0594E: Error Bad Request: DFHWU4027 ( A value of a
specified attribute was out-of-range or not valid.)(400) URL "h
    ttps://host:port/CICSSystemManagement/CICSDefinitionTransaction
    /plexname/CICSABCD"

To define this new resource definition it is using the NEW FROM
option within Explorer. The problem is being caused by Explorer
setting the CHANGEAGENT to CSDAPI, and CPSM 5.4 not thinking
    that is a valid value.

Local fix

  • n/a

Problem summary

  • When connected to a CICS TS 5.4 plex via CMCI, finding a
definition with the change agent CSDBATCH or CSDAPI and
selecting 'new from' causes an error when the name is updated
and the wizard is finished. When using 'new from', the change
agent is incorrectly included in attributes copied across from
the original definition to the new one. This change agent is
then passed to CPSM which gives the error because this attribute
is set by CICS and is not valid as input for a definition.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Explorer has been updated so when using 'new from', the
change agent is now not copied across into the new definition.
    .
This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.19 of the CICS
    Explorer.
