Problem
On macOS operating systems, after you update IBM Developer for z/OS to version 15.0.2 or later by using IBM Installation Manager, you might experience an error opening remote files. This problem occurs only when you update a package group by using Installation Manager. It does not occur when you update a P2 package or when you install version 15.0.2 or later into a new package group.
Symptom
The following error occurs when you try to open a remote file in the Remote Systems view or the z/OS Projects view:
Resolving The Problem
To resolve this problem, do one of these steps:
1. Start IBM Developer for z/OS from the command shell using the ./eclipse -clean command. The command must be run from the Developer for z/OS version 15.0.2 installation path where Eclipse.app is located, for example:
/Applications/IBM/SDP/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/./eclipse -clean
In the following screen capture, the print working directory command shows the installation path of IBM Developer for z/OS to be /Applications/IBM/SDP/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/. The ./eclipse -clean command is run from this location.
After you run the ./eclipse -clean command, you can open a remote file without error.
2. Edit the config.ini file in the \SDP\configuration directory of the product installation folder, and add osgi.clean=true to the file. After updating the config.ini file, you can start the product and open remote resources without error.
