Collecting IQYYLOGS

1. Log on to HMC as hscroot.
2. In the left Dashboard menu expand Serviceability, then click on Serviceable Events
   
   A new popup opens.
3. Select the event that is being requested (usually the latest one and/or the latest one for the failing MTMS which has an issue)
   
4. Select Action, then View Files
   
5. Scroll down to the bottom, expand additionalXXXX.zip and select iqyylog.log
   Once the file is selected, select Action, and then Call Home.
   
   
   

1. Login to the HMC GUI by user hscpe via a remote web browser from a laptop or workstation.

 NOTE:

mkhmcusr -u hscpe -a hmcpe -d "HMC PE User"

chhmcusr -u hscpe -t passwd

2. In HMC GUI, expand Logs and select Management console trace log:

A popup window will open.

3. Click on the event at the top of the list with the latest timestamp.

4. Click on View Data File List.

4. Mark /var/hsc/log/iqyylog, then click the button SAVE AS ZIP FILE.

Click Ok to save the file to your local device. Provide IBM support with the file by using your preferred upload method.

1. Log on to HMC as hscroot.
2. Select Serviceability
3. Select Serviceable Events Manager.
   
4. A new menu will open up, once there select the event that is being requested for data capture.
5. Once the event is selected, select action, then view files.
   
6. Select File iqyymrge.log.
7. Once the file is selected, select Action, and then Call Home.
   
8. If call home does not work, click offload to media. Can use USB flash drive or DVD. Both need to be formatted for service.

1. Scroll to the top of the page and on the right side, select Send Now.

2. In HMC, select "Service Management".

3. Select "View Component Logs".

4. Select "log - System log", click the OK button.

If an informational message is prompted as below, just click the link “Back”.

5. In the new open window, click the topmost event.

NOTE: The event ID or name does not matter, just click the topmost entry, which has the latest timestamp.

6. Select "View Data File List".

7. Select "/var/hsc/log/iqyylog", then click the button "SAVE AS ZIP FILE".

8. One new window will ask you to download one .zip file to your laptop or workstation. Please save and upload the .zip file to IBM ECuRep Data Repository under your case number:

1. Log on to HMC as hscroot.
2. Service Management
3. Click Manage Serviceable Events
4. Take all defaults
5. Click OK
6. Select SRC that is being requested for data capture
7. Click Selected at the top
8. Click Manage Problem Data
9. Select File iqyymrge.log
10. Click Call Home.
11. If call home does not work, click offload to media. Can use USB flash drive or DVD. Both need to be formatted for service.
