Troubleshooting
Problem
When importing IO statistics from SVC / Storwize systems such as SVC, V3700, V5000, V7000, and V840, several database files are produced. One of these files is QSVCDISK which contains IO statistics at the drive level. QMGTOOLS/SVCIMPORT creates the files.
Resolving The Problem
SVC / Storwize Performance Data File: QSVCDISK
Note: This file will be empty for SVC as it does not have internal storage.
| Field Name | Description | Attribute |
| I_DX | Drive ID. This is the ID number of the disk drive. These are HDDs or SSDs installed in the Storwize system. | PD (20,0) |
| SCOPE | Domain stats are scoped to. Typically this field is set to 'node'. | C (6) |
| NODE_ID | Node name. | C(6) |
| CLUSTER_ | Cluster name. | C (25) |
| NODE_HEX | Node number in Hex. | C (18) |
| CLU_ID | Cluster ID in hex | C (18) |
| SZ_UNITS | Size unit (block size). | C (4) |
| TM_UNITS | Time units. | C (4) |
| CONTAINS_ | Type of stats. For this file it should be 'driveStats'. | C (25) |
| TM_STAMP | Time stamp the stat was collected from the SVC / Storwize system. | C (19) |
| INTNUM | Interval number. | PD (5,0) |
| INSTSEC | Interval length in seconds. | PD (7,0) |
| TM_ZONE | GMT offset as configured on the the SVC / Storwize system. | C (9) |
| RO | Read operations. | PD (20,0) |
| WO | Write operations. | PD (20,0) |
| RB | Read blocks. Always 512 byte blocks currently. See SZ_UNITS field. | PD (20,0) |
| WB | Write blocks. Always 512 byte blocks currently. See SZ_UNITS field. | PD (20,0) |
| RE | Read external response time in milliseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| WE | Write external response time in milliseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| RQ | Read queued response time in milliseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| WQ | Write queued response time in milliseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| URE | Read external response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| UWE | Write external response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| URQ | Read queued response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| UWQ | Write queued response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| PRE | Peak read external response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| PWE | Peak write external response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| PRO | Peak queued read response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
| PWO | Peak queue write response time in microseconds. | PD (20,0) |
This database file contains statistics at the disk drive level that have been imported from the XML files collected from SVC / Storwize systems. QMGTOOLS/SVCIMPORT creates this file. Where statistics in the XML files are counters, deltas between intervals have been computed for this database file. Detailed descriptions of the corresponding XML fields are available at the link below. When possible, the same, or similar, field names have been used in the database file:
