What can cause a discrepancy between the number of replicated objects on the source and target servers?

Cause

Possible causes for this discrepancy are:
1. Misconfigured environment
2. Policy mismatch on source and target servers
3. Affected by an APAR

Answer

1. Verify the configuration by answering the following questions:
Is this a one-way replication scenario with 1 source and 1 target?
Is the target server there for DR purposes only (i.e. no clients backing up directly to it)?
Do the source and target storage pools have the same capacity?
Do you replicate all the nodes in the source server to the target server?
Is expiration running to completion daily on the source and target servers?
If your answer is "Yes" to all the above questions, proceed to step 2
2. Check if dissimilar policies are in use:
Review the output from the QUERY REPLSERVER command to confirm whether dissimilar policies are enabled (on). If so, review the output from the VALIDATE REPLPOLICY command to pinpoint the source of the discrepancy.
3. Determine whether you are affected by any of the following APARs:
