APAR status

Error description

  • Offline fsck will not be able to repair all corruptions when
    using the option of applying patch file
    ((i.e mmfsck FSchk -v --patch-file path-towrite-patchfile
    --patch)
    to repair the corruptions
    When repairing corruption by applying patch file the
    fsck output would show the below messages
    indicating the issue:
    ----------------
    Invalid BlockType Inode.
    Skipping patch.
    ---------------
    

Local fix

  • Run fsck repair with the regular
    option -y to fix the corruptions.
    

Problem summary

  • Offline fsck will not be able to repair all corruptions when
    using the option of applying patch file
