Troubleshooting
Problem
When testing a new ODBC DSN connection to a PostgreSQL database hosted on MS Azure the following error message is encountered:
SQLSTATE = 28000: Native Error Code = 3,732,480: Msg = [IBM(DataDirect OEM)][ODBC PostgreSQL Wire Protocol driver][PostgreSQL]FATAL: FIPS cipher suites are enforced for this server. Please specify FIPS complying cipher suites in your SSL/TLS settings.(File auth.c; Line 481; Routine ClientAuthentication; )
The ODBC DSN is correctly configured with EncryptionMethod=1 and a valid certificate is specified in the TrustStore parameter of the DSN.
The ODBC drivers where updated to the latest version provided by IBM Support, but the problem remains.
It was noticed that the PostgreSQL database on Azure specifically enforced TLSv1.2 but setting the parameter CryptoProtocolVersion=TLSv1.2 in the ODBC DSN did not help with the error message.
