Abstract

A problem has been found where TS7770 (3957-VED) backend disk cache 10TB DDM may be marked as failed prematurely.

Description

The observed issue is primarily caused by the internal cache controller RAID scrub process that can overload nearline SAS drives causing premature failures.
In addition, slow responding DDM’s may be improperly marked as failed when they aren’t.

The issues have been fixed in latest backend disk cache firmware.
