Error description

  • The estimated number of records to be sorted is incorrect wich
can lead to failures in the sort process.
This occurs when a single UNLOAD statement fulfills all the
    following conditions:
     - GBLPARAL YES applies
     - it specifies at least two logical unloads (SELECT statements)
with distinct output datasets and that satify all the following
    conditions: :
       - they involve the same partitioned tablespace
       - they are run in native mode
       - they request thhe date be unload into global datasets
       - they specify an ORDER clause
The incorrect estimated number of rows affects only the first
unload involved in the issue that Db2 HPU processes.

Local fix

  • if applicable, consider either of the following changes:
     - add the GBLPARAL NO option
     - run the unload in SQL mode by specifying the DB2 FORCE option
     - split up the Db2 HPU step into as many steps as there are
SELECT statements involved in the issue.
