Notes:

Use the GNU tar program (1.14 or higher) rather than the native AIX tar program to extract files from the IBM Spectrum Control installation images. The AIX tar program can truncate long file names, which may cause errors with the IBM Spectrum Control application.

Prerequisites

You can install IBM Spectrum Control 5.4.3 as a new installation or as an upgrade to IBM Spectrum Control 5.3.x and IBM Spectrum Control 5.4.x. If you are applying 5.4.3 as an upgrade, your existing license will be transferred. If you are doing a new installation, a license is required and is included on Passport Advantage® Online. Direct upgrade from Spectrum Control 5.2.x is no longer supported. You will need to upgrade to a 5.3.x release before upgrading to 5.4.x.

Installation Instructions

To prepare for an upgrade or new installation:

Review the 5.4.3 Limitations and Known Issues for IBM Spectrum Control technote prior to applying this release. It contains last-minute information and changes that could not be included in the final product documentation.
If you are applying this as an upgrade, review the upgrade procedures in the IBM Spectrum Control documentation.
For a new installation, review the new installation procedures in the IBM Spectrum Control documentation.

Download Package

Spectrum Control versions from 5.4.0 to 5.4.4 are affected due to vulnerabilities in Apache Log4j(CVE-2021-44228, CVE-2021-45105, CVE-2021-45046). Spectrum Control version 5.4.5.2 has the fixes for these Log4j vulnerabilities and can be downloaded from here
