APAR status

Error description

• Db2 Admin Tool: DSN name TOO LONG using panel ADBPUSOC when
  using GDG
  
  The tool uses a default of:
  
  '&USERID..&SSID..IC.&DB..&TS..P&PA.(+1)'
  
  for SYSCOPY datasets.  This can expand to:
  
  userid.ssid.IC.dbname.tsname.P00001.G0000V00
  
  This can be greater than the 44 character maximum dataset
  name length.
  

Local fix

• A template for COPYDDN can be
  set up to generate a shorter name
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the Db2 Administration Tool for     *
  *                 z/OS who use REORG and GDG.                  *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using Db2 Admin Tool to run the    *
  *                      REORG utility on a table space that     *
  *                      uses table-controlled partitioning,     *
  *                      the generated name for the SYSCOPY data *
  *                      set is too long for the REORG utility.  *
  ****************************************************************
  When running REORG on a table space with table-controlled
  partitioning, the following error may be returned:
  DSNUGDYN - DSN userid.ssid.IC.dbname.tsname.P00001 TOO LONG
  DSNUGBAC - UTILITY EXECUTION TERMINATED
  when using GDG.
  
  NOTE: After applying this fix, users might still see the
  original default value on panel ADBPUSOC.  If that happens,
  blank out the input field when the default is shown on
  ADBPUSOC and press Enter.
