Error description

• The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS Compare function
  generates error comparing source and target DDL during
  conversion of a table from BIGINT to CHAR.

  The Object Compare function generates a conversion error and
  fails with Return Code 12 / RC=12 when changing a table column
  from BIGINT to CHAR even when the Compare option 'Content of
  apply job(s)' is set to 'DDL'.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem has been resolved. When the 'Content of apply job(s)'
  option is set to 'DDL' on panel GOC5, the Compare, ALT and
  Change Management function will skip checking possible data
  conversion errors. No conversion report will be generated
  under this option setting.
