Error description

  • When a comma is the default decimal point of a DB2 subsystem,
    numbers that use periods can still be used in an SQL statement.
    However, Fast Apply SQL does not account for this and will
    improperly parse SQL.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Currently DB2 Log Analysis restricts    *
    *                      strings in the where clause to a        *
    *                      maximum of 40 bytes. Any string that    *
    *                      takes more than 40 bytes to represent   *
    *                      will be put in a SUBSTR function. This  *
    *                      APAR will do away with the use of the   *
    *                      SUBSTR in most cases by raising         *
    *                      the limit to a much higher value.       *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    Code has been changed to correct this condition.
