APAR status

Error description

  • java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    org.apache.activemq.util.FactoryFinder when starting REST api
    (aka ITMREST.ear)
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The ITM Data Provider is observed to fail under the following
    usage scenarios
    
    a) ITM Data Provider test page (test.html)
    b) IBM Dash Connection
    c) APM Hybrid Gateway Connection
    
    Any customer using the ITM Data Provider will encounter this
    failure after installing 6.30.7 SP6:
    
    
    a) Two different types of errors can occur depending on whether
    the TEPS/eWAS component was uplifted to WAS v8.5.5 as part of
    the ITM SP5 / SP6 installation.
    
        i)  If WAS was not uplifted to v8.5.5 as part of the
    installation of SP6, the following error may be reported by the
    ITM Data Provider test page:
    
             'HTTP error: 500   response: Error 500:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: SRVE0207E: Uncaught
    initialization exception created by servlet'"
    
       ii)  If WAS was uplifted to v8.5.5 as part of the
    installation of SP6, the ITM Data Provider test page may display
    an empty dataset as the return result.
    
    
    ITM Rest Provider test is failing
    b) While creating a new Connection in IBM Jazz SM Dash, no
    information from the HUB TEMS will be captured, and no error
    messages will be reported in the UI.
    
    c) The APM HybridGateway message log records the following
    message pattern:
    
    [1/10/21 16:16:21:036 CET] 0000005f
    com.ibm.tivoli.agentproxy.driver.TrackMSN  E Failed in parsing
    provider response Unable to connect to ITM Tivoli Enterprise
    Portal Server, (TEPS).  We will retry in 60 seconds.  Possible
    causes : a) the Hybrid Gateway configuration options have not
    been entered through the Application Performance Management
    (SaaS) UI Advanced Configuration panel, b) the Hybrid Gateway
    configuration options have been entered incorrectly, c) no
    network connection exists between the Hybrid Gateway and the
    TEPS.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The ITMREST.ear file included in the service pack has been
    updated to address this issue.
    
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:
