Troubleshooting
Problem
This document provides information about slow fax performance after upgrading to new hardware.
Resolving The Problem
After upgrading the hardware and operating system, faxes take a long time to send (about 3 - 10 minutes per fax).
To resolve the issue, do the following:
| 1. | Apply the latest Facsimile Support PTFs, hardware PTFs for the modem being used, and the latest Print Group PTF, which includes the latest Host Print Transform PTFs. |
| 2. | Delete and recreate the fax description(s). |
| 3. | Before starting Facsimile Support, determine/change the line speed for the fax line description(s): WRKLIND LIND(FaxLineName) From the Work with Line Descriptions screen, select option 2 to Change and verify that the Line Speed is 115200. If it is not 115200, change it to 115200 and press <ENTER>. Perform this step for all fax lines. Note: The line speed does not show up when displaying the line description. |
| 4. | Restart Facsimile Support using the STRFAXSPT command. |
