Summary

It is good troubleshooting practices to ensure that there are no lingering product processes already possible from a previous issue before attempting to start Cognos Analytics otherwise you can encounter errors such as the following.
[Start Service]
[ERROR] CFG-ERR-0103 Unable to start IBM Cognos Service. Execution of the external process returns an error code value of -1.
