Error description

  • When the user displays the query results in the subfile screen.
    Then clicks on menu bar DDS keyword. It results into the
    subfile screen to be cleared. The expectation is to display the
    menu entry without the records disappearing. This behavior is
    present in both Personal Communications and Host On-demand
    however with ACS 5250 Personal Communications, the display is
    correct for both the DDS menu and subfile screen. Investigation
    shows that the ACS emulator is sending an F1 aid key while
    PComm is sending a B6 aid key. The the F1 that the ACS emulator
    is sending is recognized as an Enter key on the DDS menu that
    was clicked on. PComm needs to prioritize the event as
    keystroke first then mouse event. The permanent solution will
    be applied on the next maintenance release.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * PCOMM Query content disappears when using mouse events on *
    * DDS menu.                                                    *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    PCOMM Query content disappears because PCOMM is using the mouse
    event (B6 Aid key) on the DDS menu.

    Since PCOMM using the mouse events on the DDS menu, it receives
    command CLEAR UNIT ALTERNATE and clears the query content.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSWS.EXE has been changed to handle the Enter key (F1 Aid key)
    instead of using mouse events (B6 Aid key) on DDS menu.
