Error description
Add new startup parameters to support allocation of the QM backstore datasets by volser. This change is primarily for non-SMS environments. The New key words are : VOLUME() METRDATA_VOLUME() OBJSDATA_VOLUME() TEXTDATA_VOLUME() EXCPDATA_VOLUME() EXCPINDX_VOLUME() SQLCDATA_VOLUME() DB2CDATA_VOLUME() These parameters are only required in cqmparms if volume assignment by VOLSER is desired. The VOLUME() parameter is global and will be used for datastore allocation when a given parm is **NOT** specified. If a dataset backstore volume is specified then the volser will be used for dataset allocation for that datastore dataset only. Only one volser can be specified per parameter.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Query Monitor. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Query Monitor does not have support for * * specifying non-SMS managed volumes for * * VSAM back store datasets. * * * * LOCAL FIX: * * Define ESOTRIC unit names and use the * * UNIT parameter introduced in UQ93292. * * * * This is a new function APAR that * * enables users to include volume * * parameters in support of allocating * * Query Monitor back store datasets on * * non-SMS managed volumes. Users may * * take advantage of this new function by * * specifying the new dataset volume * * parameters and/or the new volume * * parameter in CQMPARMS. * * * * ACTION: * * If allocation of the backstore datasets * * on non-SMS managed volumes is required, * * then specify the new dataset volume * * parameters and/or the new volume * * parameter in CQMPARMS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Code has been changed to implement this.
