Troubleshooting
Problem
This document provides information on Management Central and SSL considerations.
Resolving The Problem
When using SSL (Use Secure Sockets Layer) with Management Central, there are a few considerations. These considerations are as follows:
| 1. | Ensure a Certificate has been assigned to the Management Central server through the Digital Certificate Manager. Reference document N1014938, Digital Certificate Manager, Getting Started to assist with getting this part set up. |
| 2. | Ensure Management Central server is set to use SSL. This can be done using iNavigator or a 5250 application. iNavigator a. In iNavigator, right click on Management Central and select the properties, Security tab: ![]() b. Check the Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) option. Using a 5250 application a. You can check the values for SSL set for the Management Central Server using the following: WRKLNK '/Qibm/UserData/OS400/MGTC/config/McCSSecure.properties' b. The file should show the following values which set SSL on: QYPS_AUTH_LEVEL = 1 QYPS_SSL = 1 Note: If either is set to 0, SSL for the Management Central Server is off. |
| 3. | Test the connection by right clicking on Management Central and selecting Verify Connections. If all is set properly, all should come back with green check marks, indicating successful verifications. |
