IBM Spectrum Protect server crash on AIX 7.2 TL5

Flashes (Alerts)

Abstract

The IBM Spectrum Protect server running on AIX 7.2 TL5 might crash frequently with various call stacks.

The majority of the reported cases indicate either an error releasing a mutex or an indication of memory corruption such as a crash in free_y().

When running servermon, either the PERL script or always on, or using the SHOW THREADS command outside of servermon the server may hang. This is fixed by AIX APAR IJ31681.
