Error description

  • (will not be fixed in HPU 4.3) The LOAD control cards generated
for an unload in delimited format unduly specify a separator or
a delimiter longer than one character.

Delimited format stands for either of the following formats:
    - COMMA-DELIMITED from FastUnload
    - CSV from UNLOAD PLUS
    - DELIMITED for the Db2 UNLOAD utility

The issue occurs if the unload specifies, as a separator or
delimiter, a value longer than one byte in hexadecimal
representation. By design, such unsupported value is tolerated
as follows. Db2 HPU takes only the first byte of the specified
separator or delimiter into account and reports the situation by
issuing the following message: INZU112W STRING IN ITEM STARTING
AT (x,y) IS TOO LONG AND IS TRUNCATED. Db2 HPU unloads the data
using the first byte of the specified values as actual separator
and delimiter accordingly. The corresponding separator or
delimiter in the LOAD command should be consistent with the
truncated values used in the unloaded data and should not be
    more than one character long.

Local fix

  • replace the unsupported value for the separator or delimiter by
the first byte of this value.
