Troubleshooting
Problem
This document shows how to turn on job logging if QMSF is active but in a DEQW status.
Resolving The Problem
With the capabilities of using the Internet to send and receive mail, QMSF may receive a document with a header that is not valid. In many cases, when QMSF does not know what to do with a problem piece of mail, it stops processing and sits in a DEQW status.
To find out what the problem is, do the following:
| 1. | To change the QMSF job to log to start logging messages, on the operating system command line type the following: CHGJOBD JOBD(QSYS/QMSF) LOG(4 00 *SECLVL) Press the Enter key. |
| 2. | To end QMSF, on the operating system command line type the following: ENDMSF Press the Enter key. |
| 3. | To start QSMF, on the operating system command line type the following: STRMSF MSGOPT(*RESET) NBRMSFJOB(1) Press the Enter key. |
Note: It is not recommended to start QMSF with *CLEAR. This will clear out all incomplete distributions. For customers who have high users of QMSF, this may clearly be detrimental to their systems.
