IBM Z Distribution for Zowe™

IBM Z Distribution for Zowe is zero-cost software. When an IBM product uses Zowe as a prerequisite and IBM Subscription and Support (S&S) has been purchased for that product, the S&S for the Zowe components required by the product is included. (See below.)  It is important to open support cases on the product and not Zowe directly. The IBM product teams will triage the problem and involve Zowe support if needed.

When IBM Z Distribution for Zowe is used by a client or ISV independent of an IBM product, Zowe can be supported by IBM Support, worldwide, for a fee.To purchase IBM Z Distribution for Zowe support, please speak to an IBM representative.

Additional Information

IBM Support will only accept support tickets from customers with valid IBM Subscription and Support (S&S) entitlement for issues related to the Zowe PID (5698-ZWG or 5698-ZWH). The only valid S&S entitlement scenarios are as follows:

1) Customers with S&S entitlement for an approved principal program that has formally identified the Zowe PID as a supporting program. Please refer to IBM product licenses and announcement letters for the Zowe supported versions and release.

2) Customers who have purchased optional S&S for the Zowe PID.

For purchased S&S the support scope is: 

z/OS code: Zowe API Mediation Layer, Zowe App Framework, Zowe ZSS - Zowe Secure Services, Zowe open source App Framework apps on the Zowe Desktop

Node.js SDK for z/OS supported by the open community. See zowe.org for System Requirements (be sure to select the Zowe version and release in use at the top of the page).  

Client code: VS Code Zowe Explorer, Zowe “core” CLI that uses z/OSMF REST APIs,(i.e., Zowe core CLI functionality is included in @zowe/cli package at zowe.org) and the Zowe Installation Wizard. 

Support is entitled for IBM Z Distribution for Zowe components via the IBM products listed.
