APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the read request length is more than
afmReadBufferSize, not
enough buffer size is allocated causing the assert. Pass
the
aligned length to allocate buffers so that buffer size of
actual
length is allocated.

Local fix

  • mmchconfig afmReadBufferSize=48M -i

This is needed only at the cache cluster.

Problem summary

  • Daemon (AFM) assert goes off:
getReqP->r_length <= ksP->r_bufSize

Problem conclusion

  • Benefits of the solution:
No more assert

Work around:
Increase the afmReadBufferSize config value.

Problem trigger:
AFM caching mode and a read of an uncached file.

Symptom: Unexepcted Results.

Platforms affected: All Linux OS environments.

Functional Area affected: AFM
