Error description

• Db2 Admin Tool: Space manager does not properly handle tables
  with more than 1 billion rows
  
  The Db2 Administration Tool space manager function may display
  the number of rows in a table with more than one billion rows in
  scientific notation and subsequently, the space estimates are
  processed disregarding the exponent portion of the number.

  *                 space management function.                   *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: For tables with over 1 billion rows and *
  *                      indexes with over 1 billion keys, the   *
  *                      number of rows or keys might be         *
  *                      represented in scientific notation. If  *
  *                      so, the integer portion of the mantissa *
  *                      is used in calculations without regard  *
  *                      to the value of the exponent, resulting *
  *                      in incorrect space estimates. In other  *
  *                      words, the exponent was ignored in the  *
  *                      calculation.                            *
  ****************************************************************
  The number of rows value and space calculations used the default
  precision.  The precision of the calculations has been increased
  to be able to correctly process larger values.  In addition, the
  input fields were enlarged to allow more digits and the output
  recommended primary and secondary size fields were lengthened to
  avoid possible truncation issues.
  

Problem conclusion

• The reported problem has been resolved.
