Problem
The Windows service for the IBM Spectrum Protect server fails to start.
Symptom
When you start the service of IBM Spectrum Protect server from service panel, it pops up an error as following.
Windows could not start the IBM Spectrum Protect SERVER1 service on Local Computer. Error 1067:
The process terminated unexpectedly.
The process terminated unexpectedly.
Windows system event log shows following two errors:
1. Fatal error trying to start the TSM server as a service. Location: No compatible instance found for Server service: IBM Spectrum Protect SERVER1. RC: 1168
2. TSM Server Diagnostic: Multiple instances found with name partially matched service name IBM Spectrum Protect SERVER1. Service stopped. Following instances are found:
