Troubleshooting
Problem
After applying Operating System updates and rebooting the server, Cognos Analytics is available for use, and reports can execute, however the Windows service (IBM Cognos) shows as stopped, and Cognos Configuration shows that the service is not started. On trying to start the service, errors are received stating that the ports are in use.
Symptom
Cognos Analytics is available.
IBM Cognos service shows as "Stopped" in Windows Services.
Cognos Configuration shows the environment as not running.
Cognos Configuration returns errors that the ports are in use, if an attempt is made to start the service.
