JR62030: UPGRADING CDC KAFKA RESETS KAFKAPRODUCER.PROPERTIES SETTINGS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When you upgrade the CDC Kafka engine, any changes made to
  Kafka settings in the <installation
  directory>/conf/kafkaproducer.properties files will be erased.
  If you configured a Kafka broker list, then following an
  upgrade, subscriptions will end on error when you start
  replication.
  

Local fix

• Before upgrading, copy <installation
  directory>/conf/kafkaproducer.properties to a backup location.
  Run the upgrade, then copy kafkaproducer.properties back to
  <installation directory>/conf .

Problem conclusion

• Upgrading to IDR 11.4.0.2-5544 or newer for Kafka resolves the

  directory>/conf/kafkaproducer.properties to the instance
  directory.
