Converting Jobs from IBM OS/400 Job Scheduler Entries to the Advanced Job Scheduler

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document explains how to convert the IBM OS/400 or IBM i Job Scheduler entries to Advanced Job Scheduler entries.

Resolving The Problem

Because all the WRKJOBSCDE jobs are listed under one object (QUSRSYS/QDFTJOBSCD of type *JOBSCD), it becomes increasingly difficult to manage them as the number of entries increases over time. To simplify this issue, use the Advanced Job Scheduler (5769JS1/5722JS1/5770SS1) which will allow one to group (categorize) scheduled job entries.

Verifying that the Advanced Job Scheduler (5769JS1/5722JS1/5770JS1) is Installed on Your System

To determine if the Advanced Job Scheduler is installed on your system, do one of the following:
o
Use GO MENU(LICPGM) at the operating system command line. Select the option to Display installed licensed programs, and scroll down until you see the following:

Licensed Installed

5770JS1 V7R2M0 IBM Advanced Job Scheduler for i
o Use GO MENU(JS) or GO JS at the OS/400 or i5/OS command line. The following screen is shown:

You must purchase and install this Licensed Program Product.
