Problem
If a user wants to FTP to a folder (FLR) on the iSeries in QDLS, the user must be enrolled in the system distribution directory. This document provides instructions to add a directory entry for the user.
Resolving The Problem
If a user wants to FTP to a folder (FLR) on the IBM iSeries in QDLS, the user must be enrolled in the system distribution directory. Otherwise an FTP Reply Code of 550 will be returned if the user tries to access the folder on the iSeries through FTP.
The existing directory entries on the iSeries can be displayed with the Work with Directory Entry (WRKDIRE) command.
To add a directory entry use the Add Directory Entry (ADDDIRE) command. For example:
ADDDIRE USRID(FTPUSR SYSTEMNAME) USRD('Local directory entry')
where the FTPUSR is the user profile of the user that is going to FTP to the Folder on the iSeries, and SYSTEMNAME is the name of the local system as shown in the Network Attributes display (DSPNETA).
