APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IOERR can be returned for exec cics start issued by ezacic02
when the REQID parm is duplicate on two different transactions.
This error can occur when multiple CICS regions each have a
CSKL (EZACIC02) Listener transaction is assigned the same CICS
transaction number running and each has the same count value in
    the REQID.

Local fix

  • insure that the CSKL (EZACIC02) transactions are using different
transaction numbers in each CICS region

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message EZY1362E issued because the *
    * CICS Listener's EXEC CICS START of *
    * child server task fails with IOERR *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When the CICS Listener program, EZACIC02, issues an
EXEC CICS START in order to start a child server task, it
specifies an 8-byte REQID parameter whose format is "Ltttcccc"
where ttt is the listener task ID and cccc is a rotating
count field. If two different CICS regions have the CICS
Listener running under the same task ID, then they can end up
generating the same REQID. And if they specify the same
REQID on an EXEC CICS START that is function shipped to the
same remote CICS region, then one of the EXEC CICS START
requests will fail with IOERR and message EZY1362E.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Listener program EZACIC02 has been amended to generate a
REQID in the format "Lsssssss" where sssssss is the bottom 7
    bytes of an STCK value.
