APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Memory leak might be experienced on file system manager
node when the quota usage is reaching to the quota limit
and the file system manager needs to revoke quota from
clients.

Reported In:
Spectrum Scale 5.0.4.3

Known Impact:
out of memory or Kernel OOM Panic

Verification steps:
# mmfsd uses way more RSS than the configured pagepool
  plus 10K * maxFilesToCache, and some
  users/groups/filesets' quota usage is close to the
limit
  ps auxw | grep mmfsd
  mmrepquota/mmlsquota

Recovery action:
Increase the quota limit of the user/group/fileset whose
quota usage is close to the quota limit

Restart Spectrum Scale to free out the memory
