This document provides a tool that will compare two files collected with the RTVDSKINF command and shows the objects that have had the biggest growth.

Caution:  This code is provided as is.  IBM is not responsible for ensuring accuracy of the results from running this tool.


Included in this document is a save file that contains a command and programs that compares two files from the RTVDSKINF command.  For example, if the RTVDSKINF command is run one week, rename the file (for example, rename it from QAEZDISK to QAEZDISK1).  Then, run the RTVDSKINF command again a week later.  After restoring the CMPDISK library from the attached save file, run the command CMPDISK/CMPDISK, and press F4 to prompt the command.  Fill in the appropriate file names:

Then, submit a job that runs an RPGLE program with imbedded SQL.  The program produces a spooled file COMPDISK, that looks similar to the following:
