  • During MAS shutdown the following message was produced :
    EYUNL0090W applid LMAS is shutting down because it failed to
    become available to process requests
    .
    This message is not expected during MAS shutdown. It would be
    expected to occur during MAS startup if at all.
    .
    Once the MAS was restarted again, it connected fine and all was
    ok.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Very occasionally the EYUNL0090W        *
    *                      startup message is produced at          *
    *                      shutdown. This is due to race           *
    *                      conditions between CONL and COIE        *
    *                      transactions at both startup and        *
    *                      shutdown.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: This fix affects MAS regions and will take   *
    *                 effect from the next MAS restart.            *
    ****************************************************************
    During MAS startup the CONL transaction checks to see if the
    COIE heartbeat transaction has started. This test is repeated
    each time CONL wakes, until the MASINITTIME is reached.
    If the COIE heartbeat task has not started in this time then
    message EYUNL0090W is issued.
    There is a timing window for COIE to go active while the
    CONL task is busy. In this situation CONL can then perform
    the wait code at shutdown and issue EYUNL0090W.

Problem conclusion

  • The CONL wait for work loop was altered to disable the wait for
    COIE code if the COIE heartbeat was detected.
